This maker shoot brought me to Studio Habeas Corpus, a textile workshop specializing in (among other things) 18th century stays, locally sourced labor and materials, slow production techniques, and reuse and repairability research.
The studio’s manifesto is a call to the handmade, the local, and the artisanal experience. Likewise, I wanted these images to feel tactile, intimate, and natural.
Embrace the handmade – you can do it, too. Start here, with the Bird Dress pattern and tutorial by Studio Habeas Corpus.
